Ogopogo Triathlon Club has been monitoring developments with COVID-19 (2019 Novel Coronavirus). When responding to an infectious disease, our board closely follows the recommendations made by our county health department. We also monitor and follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention plus the World Health Organization.
Coronavirus is a virus that can cause respiratory problems. Symptoms include fever, cough and difficulty breathing. The virus is spread similar to the flu by coughing and sneezing. Symptoms may appear between 2 to 14 days after exposure.
What Is The Ogopogo Triathlon club doing
Our Board is taking necessary steps to prepare for the potential spread of Coronavirus. Prevention is a priority. It is prudent for us to delay club registration in light of the rapidly changing landscape surrounding COVID19. We hope to start our season in May as planned but this will depend on how the situation evolves
What can I do to stay healthy
The current risk from this virus is considered low. Follow the same precautions recommended for avoiding colds and flu. If you believe that you may have been exposed to coronavirus, consult with your doctor or health care provider as soon as possible.
